Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using BuiltBlk ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

Use of the Service

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use our Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

User Accounts

When you create an account, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Maintain and update your information to keep it accurate
  • Maintain the security of your password and account
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use

Business Listings

Listing Requirements

When submitting a business listing, you agree that:

  • You have the authority to represent the business
  • All information provided is accurate and truthful
  • The business is genuinely Black-owned
  • You will maintain accurate and up-to-date business information

Verification

We reserve the right to verify business ownership and information. We may request documentation or take other steps to confirm the accuracy of listings. We may remove or suspend listings that cannot be verified or that violate these Terms.

User Content

Content You Submit

You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service (reviews, questions, answers, etc.). By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and display your content in connection with the Service.

Prohibited Content

You agree not to submit content that:

  • Is false, misleading, or fraudulent
  • Violates any law or regulation
  • Infringes on intellectual property rights
  • Contains hate speech, harassment, or discrimination
  • Is spam, advertising, or promotional material (unless authorized)
  • Contains viruses or malicious code
  • Violates privacy rights of others

Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by BuiltBlk and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or related systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Use automated systems to access the Service without permission
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Collect or harvest information about other users
  • Use the Service to transmit any harmful or malicious code

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using account deletion features if available.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information on the Service. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or opinions expressed in user-generated content.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BUILTBLK SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless BuiltBlk and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorney's fees, arising out of or in any way connected with your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.

By continuing to access or use our Service after those revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms.
